Event Details

 

Men are more likely to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer than women, why is this? What places men at a higher risk and what can healthcare providers do to help patients prevent this disease? Receive up to date information on prevention, diagnosis and what is on the horizon for treatment.

Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

1.     Identify who is at increased risk for pancreatic cancer.

2.     List signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer.

3.     Explain the need for early detection and improved treatment methods.

 

This is a Gannett Education CE event. Participants who attend the webinar and complete the post-test and evaluation survey will earn:

* Registered Nurses: 1.0 contact hour

* Registered Dietitians: 1.0 CPEU (Level 2)

Jane Hanna is the nurse coordinator for the Pancreatic Disease Program at Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, DC. She received her BSN from the University of Texas, Health Science Center at Houston and is an Oncology Certified Nurse with over 30 years of oncology experience, which includes direct patient care, clinical research, case management, patient and community education and outreach, program development and management. Her practice is patient and caregiver focused with an emphasis on education, empowerment and navigation through diagnosis to treatment. Ms. Hanna currently serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, a national pancreatic cancer advocacy organization, and is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, National Coalition of Nurse Navigators and the Academy of Oncology Nurse Navigators.

After listening to the webinar presentation, complete and successfully pass the course test online. In the event of loss, there is no charge for a replacement copy of a CE certificate.

How to Register/Attend:
